The
adult education department is Instituto largest single service center,
serving 1,200 individuals annually in ESL, GED, and Spanish literacy. It
works in partnership with the Illinois Community College Board, the
State Board of Education, the Chicago Public Library, and the Illinois
Secretary of State Literacy Office. Classes are held daily at Instituto’s
Main Facility, the Back of the Yards Career Center, and the St. Michaels
Educational Center. These services help parents learn how to be their children’s best teachers, while improving their own English and learning computer skills. Their children attend pre-K classes, early literacy, or home work tutoring, to strengthen the educational level and well being of the whole family. |
