In 2005, Instituto launched ManufacturingWorks (MW) with funding from the Cook County Works Partnership and today it has grown to Cook County’s Business Service Sector Center for manufacturing. The Sector Center was strategically designed to identify and address the needs of manufacturing employers in areas of customized recruitment and internal training program development. To do this, MW Account Executives act as “Shop Floor Consultants” working with the Subject Matter Experts from companies to identify the skills, knowledge, and abilities required.
ManufacturingWorks partners with community-based organizations, workforce groups, area technical training providers, and other associations and inform them about the specifics of the job orders. These partners refer candidates to MW for assessment and testing. ManufacturingWorks screens hundreds of candidates, recommending the top qualified to employers. These in-house systems and processes of candidate assessment allowed ManufacturingWorks to place 3,200 individuals at over 700 different employers over the last 8 years.
ManufacturingWorks is the link for employers to city and state resources for their internal and external training development. MW assists in the facilitation and project management of area trainers, as well as grant writing to cover costs of the training for the employers. As part of Instituto, MW believes in lifelong learning and education and always encourages employers to establish career pathways for their employees.
ManufacturingWorks is always looking for candidates to fill our open job orders. If you have a recent background working in manufacturing please contact us.
