Adult Education
The adult education department is Instituto largest single service center,
serving 1,200 individuals annually in ESL, GED, and Spanish literacy.

Youth Development
In the last 5 years, Instituto has increased its
work with youth, acknowledging the importance of inspiring educational
aspiration and developing life skills at an early age. The
emergence of Instituto's Youth Development Department responded from
the philosophy that sustainable community development must include
effective programs for youth.

Chartered in 1996 and housed at Instituto, the Rudy Lozano Leadership Academy
(RLLA) provides a curriculum inspired by the principles of social justice
and student-centered learning in order to meet the educational and developmental
needs of its students.

Through partnerships with the Illinois Coalition
for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, the New Americans Initiative,
and the State of Illinois, Instituto operates the largest citizenship
preparation program in the State.
